Children's Book Week has gotten off to a great start this week. We began the week with teachers and students decorating the back hallway and classroom doors centered around their favorite books. The back hallway is centered around the book Where the Wild Things Are. Here's a sneak peek of what it looks like...
Tuesday's theme was "Get Lost in a Good Book", and students were able to dress in camouflage.
Today's theme was "It's Not Tacky to be a Good Reader". Students and teachers were dressed in their tacky clothes to show that they are proud to be bookworms.
Students have also been very busy reading and taking AR tests to reach the school's goal of 650 points for the week so that Dr. Johnson and Dr.Sukaratana will be able to dress up like two tacky tourists. Keep up the good work and keep on reading!!
Reading aloud with children is known to be the single most important activity for building the knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read.
